The 2011 Mariposa Folk Festival Mixtape Vol 2

Feedback was so positive about my first Mariposa Mixtape I thought I would get another one up on the blog so here’s the 2011 Mariposa Folk Festival Mixtape Vol 2 , this is the second in the series of different artists that will be calling Mariposa their home this July...Enjoy

Jim Bryson & The Weakerthans - Freeways in the Frontyard

Mariposa has the honour this year of welcoming to the Festival Jim Bryson & The Weakerthans. Following the release of Falcon Lake Incident last October Jim and The Weakerthans have been mastering their live shows night after night, so don’t miss them the Friday night.

  Bob Wiseman-We Got time

Bob Wiseman...when you say his name it automatically brings back beautiful memories of his years in Blue Rodeo, then if you know Bob’s work like I do you are reminded of his career spanning almost 27 years, a career of music, film art...I could just go on and on, but this year Bob will make Mariposa his stage, his home...we are in for a great time.

Emmylou Harris - Six White Cadillacs

There really is nothing left to say that hasn’t already been said about Emmylou Harris, except maybe Welcome to Mariposa...

Yukon Blonde -Wind Blows

Vancouver group Yukon Blonde will defiantly make Mariposa Festival goers stand up and take note with their Alt Country/pop infused sound and their killer live show...make them part of your Mariposa weekend

The Rucksack Willies-Beautiful Stranger

I had the pleasure a few weeks ago of seeing The Rucksack Willies live and let me tell you, they pull no punches , when they get up on stage they take you on a journey of old-time country jams and gin joint fun. I personally invite you to make your way to this year’s edition of the Mariposa Folk Festival and see this band live…you will not forgive yourself if you don’t.

This year the Mariposa Folk Festival takes place July the 8th to the 10th in beautiful Orillia, Ontario

This year’s line-up includes Emmylou Harris, Josh Ritter and the Royal City Band, Peter Yarrow, Lunch at Allen’s, John McDermott, Ron Hynes, Garnet Rogers, Adonis Puentes and many more on eleven stages throughout the beautiful Tudhope Park on the shores of Lake Couchiching

There will be Audience camping available at nearby Burl’s Creek Family Event Park
